The DIGITNOW Record Player is an affordable all-in-one turntable. It wil play and record not only your vinyl records, but also radio & casette tapes. That sounds great, so let’s take a closer look.
Pros – DigitNow Bluetooth Record Player
The DIGITNOW Bluetooth Record Player is a very affordable all-in-one model. You won’t just be able to play your vinyl records on this. You will also be to play radio and casette tapes. Next to that you will also be able to record them. This will replace so many other devices. It’s very rare to see so many functionalities in this price range.
To record vinyl, radio, and casettes with this turntable you can either use a connection with USB or use the SD card slot. When you’re using these you won’t need to install any software for getting your digitalized files(.mp3). After reading alot of its reviews on Amazon it appears that the recordings are of good quality.
You will be able to listen to your vinyl, radio & casette tapes through its built-in speakers. You will also be able to play music from your phone or mp3 player through this Record Player using bluetooth. You’re going to be able use the headphone jack for your headphones. And finally you’ll be able to use RCA connectors with your own stereo amplifiers and/or speakers.
The last part that’s getting us very excited about this one is its usability. Okay, it’s easy to use, but what’s even better is the included remote control. This will allow you to start/stop spinning, mute, start radio, etcetera. That’s ideal if you’re not interested in getting up to change channels for example. It’s something I just don’t see in this price range.
Cons – DigitNow Bluetooth Record Player
Inevitably there are some drawbacks, which is to be expected at this price. Let’s start off with the audio quality of the built-in speakers. The quality just isn’t all that impressive, it’s mediocre at best. This is due to a lack of bass (unless you use an equalizer) and apparent sound artifacts on higher volumes. Now this can ofcourse be solved by connecting it to your own stereo installation or your headphones.
Then there are also some reports on issues regarding wobbling records and skipping. Now this isn’t the end of the world and I’ve written an article that will help to solve these specific problems. Check the article out here.
And finally there appears to be an issue with the tonearm. I haven’t been able to confirm this, but there is a chance that the arm is not long enough for some of the larger LPs. For example someone reported the arm being too short to play the last track of the Sam’s Town, The Killers LP. It’s is 44 minutes long with these dimensions 313 x 312 x 7 mm. But again, I haven’t been able to confirm this. Just keep it in mind.
Conclusion
To sum it all up, I love this one. This price is bizarrely low for what it offers. The only apparent drawbacks are the mediocre audio quality from the built-in speakers and some basic stuctural imperfections. But I think that is to be taken lightly for what is offered at this affordable price. Namely, not only being able to play vinyl, radio & casettes but also record them. It has some nice gadgets like the remote control.
I definitely advice buying this record player, but if your budget allows it I’d even suggest to look at the newer models from DIGITNOW. If you hadn’t noticed, I’m a very big fan of these guys. You could also take a look at my other Reviews & Top Lists to get an overview of your alternatives.
